Gilbert is a filmmaker from South Australia and a graduate of the Adelaide College of the Arts and AFTRS. His work as writer and director includes the short films 'Reunion' (Adelaide Film Festival, ABC iView, KASHISH Mumbai International Queer Film Festival, Perth Queer Film Festival, Feast Festival), 'Meteor' (ABC2), and 'Be Careful with Me' (Melbourne Queer Film Festival, KASHISH MIQFF, and WoFF Glasgow) as well as gallery work including 'Labyrinth' (video installation in collaboration with Claire Marsh, for Google Cube, presented by Google Creative Labs and Adelaide Fringe) and 'In the Garden' (360° video work for VR headsets, presented by Novus Res at Sister Gallery).
